The bicycle disc brake is the most important safety element on your bike. When you buy a new high-quality bicycle brake rotor, you are investing directly in your own riding safety and performance.
In our bicycle parts & components category, we offer you nothing but premium quality. At Fadu Bike, you are guaranteed to find the perfect bicycle brake rotor for your individual riding style and terrain.
The right brake rotor diameter is a decisive factor in your bike's braking performance. Larger rotors offer better leverage, provide more powerful braking, and cool down faster.
When buying, pay attention to these common brake rotor diameters:
160mm: The standard size. Ideal for lighter riders, nimble cross-country bikes, and daily use in city traffic.
180mm: The robust all-rounder for mountain bikes (Enduro, All-Mountain) and use on heavy trekking or e-bikes.
203mm: The absolute premium choice for maximum stopping power as an MTB brake rotor for downhill use or extreme loads in the mountains.
For the material, top manufacturers rely on hardened stainless steel or innovative sandwich constructions with an aluminum core. These materials guarantee your bicycle disc brake optimal heat dissipation and maximum torsional stiffness.
Before choosing your new bicycle brake rotor, you must check the mount on your wheel hub. Two mounting standards have become established worldwide:
6-bolt brake rotor: This version is fixed directly to the hub with six Torx screws. An extremely robust, low-maintenance, and widely used standard.
Centerlock brake rotor: An innovative system in which the rotor is placed onto splines and secured safely and lightning-fast with a central lockring.
Compromising on your braking system can be dangerous. First-class bicycle brake accessories guarantee you absolutely reliable performance in every dangerous situation.
A premium bicycle brake rotor will not deform even under extreme stress, offers a constant pressure point, and protects you from dangerous failures.
Whether in pouring rain, mud, or on dusty trails – a quality bicycle brake rotor delivers dependably under all conditions. Special hole designs in the rotor ensure that water and dirt are immediately cleared from the braking surface.
For optimal friction, we recommend always pairing your new rotor with fresh bicycle brake pads. This prevents annoying squealing, protects the material, and maximizes deceleration.
On long, steep descents, extreme frictional heat is generated. Cheaper rotors can overheat (fade), which leads to a life-threatening loss of braking power.
Our premium rotors for bicycle disc brakes feature special cooling fins or heat-dissipating high-tech materials. This protects your braking system from overheating, noticeably reduces wear, and significantly increases service life.
At Fadu Bike, we rely exclusively on renowned manufacturers who are subject to the strictest industrial quality tests. When you order your brake rotor online in Austria from us, you always receive durable, original merchandise.

When do I need to change my bicycle brake rotor?
You must change your brake rotor as soon as it falls below the minimum thickness specified by the manufacturer (usually between 1.5 mm and 1.8 mm). Immediate replacement is also mandatory if there are cracks in the material, severe discoloration (due to overheating), or if the rotor is significantly warped, in order to ensure your safety.
Can I mount a 6-bolt rotor on a Centerlock hub?
Yes, this is easily doable with a special Centerlock adapter. You can find these adapters directly in our bicycle brake accessories category. Please note: The reverse installation (a Centerlock rotor on a 6-bolt hub) is unfortunately not technically possible.
What brake rotor diameter do I need for my e-bike or mountain bike?
Due to the higher system weight of e-bikes or for use as an MTB brake rotor, we strongly recommend a brake rotor diameter of at least 180mm. For maximum safety when riding with extra load or frequent downhill rides, large 203mm rotors are definitely the best and safest choice for your bicycle disc brake. However, be sure to check your suspension fork's maximum compatibility beforehand.
