Not every rear light fits every scooter. Please check the model specifications before purchasing. We carry matching rear lights for Xiaomi scooters (e.g., M365, Pro, and the 4 series), for Segway-Ninebot models, as well as universal rear lights for many other e-scooters.

New equipment regulations since May 1, 2026

With the 36th amendment to the Road Traffic Regulations (StVO), mandatory equipment regulations for e-scooters have been in force in Austria since May 1, 2026, including for vehicles already purchased. In darkness and poor visibility, a white front light and a red rear light are mandatory; the rear light may also flash. Regardless of lighting conditions, two red rear reflectors and yellow turn signals on the handlebar ends are required, among other things. If you need to retrofit your e-scooter, we will be happy to advise you in our shop in Vienna and can assist with installation upon request.

Frequently asked questions about e-scooter rear lights

Is a rear light mandatory for e-scooters in Austria?

Yes. Since May 1, 2026, the StVO has required a red rear light and a white front light for e-scooters in darkness and poor visibility. The rear light may also flash. Additionally, regardless of lighting conditions, two red rear reflectors are mandatory.

Does a rear light with a flashing function fulfill the new turn signal requirement?

No. The turn signal requirement effective since May 1, 2026, demands yellow turn signals at the ends of the handlebar grips. A flashing red rear light is permitted and improves your visibility, but it does not replace the handlebar turn signals.

How much does an e-scooter rear light cost?
